I Dare You SAL

I Dare You SAL

Welcome back to my little corner of the Internet ❤️

Today we are going to talk about the I Dare You SAL. This is a challenge that I have set up for the first 6 months of 2024. I will be doing another for the second 6 months too.

What is it?

The I Dare You SAL is a challenge where you pick 6 WIPs and number them 1-6. I use a random wheel spin app to pick the order these WIPs are worked on. The idea is that you work on them in order until you reach your goal for the project. However, as long as progress is being made on your WIPs you don't have to use the order at all.

Where is it?

If you want to join in, it would be great to have you have you. We have a Facebook Group for people to share their progress and most likely enable people 🤣

What are my WIPs?

A very good question, I hear you asking 🤔

In my list we have the following:

1. Sam and Dean (Tilton Crafts) - Goal of 50% Complete

This is stitched on 18ct Davosa fabric in white. I am using DMC threads and stitching 2 over 1. I am currently at around 5% so a long way to go for this goal!

2. Snow Village (Country Cottage Needlworks) - Goal is to finish it.

This is stitched on 18ct fabric from Chromatic Alchemy but I can't remember the name of it. I have 4 parts left to stitch on this one.

3. Mother Maya (Ink Circles) - Goal is to finish it

I haven't got a lot done and I am considering choosing a different colour thread as I don't like how pale this tiny amount looks. I am stitching it on 28ct over 2. The fabric is from Sparklies but again, I haven't been good at recording the fabric names.

4. Jack Frost Tree Farm (Little House Needleworks) - Goal is to finish it

This is stitched on an 18ct hand dyed fabric from Chromatic Alchemy. I have quite a way to go to get this complete.

5. Jurassic Park (Country magic Stitch, I think) - Goal is to finish it.

This is stitched on 32ct over 2. The fabric is just a plain white.

6. Playtime's Time (Kit from DMC) - Goal is to Finish

This is my oldest WIP! It is 9 years old and needs to be finished.

The wheel spin will be posted in the group on 28th December 2023. I have a lot of lofty goals here and I won't beat myself up if I don't reach them but I thought it'd be fun to try.

I'll keep you update here on my journey to complete projects with this challenge and a few others.
