So here we are, my first blog post. I will be honest, I am petrified of writing this as not sure I will be good enough but practice makes perfect right?
I am going to start with a bit of an introduction and then follow this with what Cross Stitch projects I am working on. I will also use this blog to update you on new products coming and any events I attend.
So I am Sarah and I am 33 years old. I am married and have 2 beautiful children (who can also be horrors). They are my daughter who is 7 years old and my son who is 3 years old. My daughter has just started middle school which is crazy to me as it feels like I have just had her. My son is in pre-school and will be starting big school next year. Again that is madness!!! That is a point, I need to do the school application form…..
My husband is the same age as me but has M.E so I look after him and he helps me when he can (which is not very regular at all, as much as he wants to).
I run this lovely little online shop called Marney’s Mixed Bag. I started back in June of 2016. I decided to do this so I can work around my kids and hubby without having to leave the house much.
Right on to the Stitching. I have 23 WIPS at the moment. That number scares me and makes me feel overwhelmed so I am working on reducing it. I am working on 3 projects at the moment. The main one I am focusing on is a Dimensions Kit called Cute Carolers Stocking. I am using the 14 count Aida it came with. Here is where it is at right now:
On a Monday I go to a craft club and work on a project there. The project I am taking is 99 by Ink Circles. I am stitching this on 18 count aida in the colour Mocha. It is a memorial piece for my father who passed away in September 2015. He loved his beer and his favourite, Newcastle Brown Ale, is on here. Here is where this piece is at:
The last piece I am going to be working on at least once a week is a model stitch of a pattern I converted from a piece of Artwork by Mary Robles of Hanging the Moon. She is letting me chart her work and the one I am working on is called Drip, which is a Westie. This is where this is at:
So after all this, I hope to see you again next week. I will give you an update on my progress and any products that I have.
Enjoy your stitching
